Once winter arrives and the world is blanketed in snow, many of us do not want to leave our homes. Having to scrape our windshields and car windows every morning has a tendency to turn many off from doing anything more when there is snow on the ground. The truth is, however, that there are a number of fun and fast paced activities that you can do in the winter that go beyond skiing and snowboarding. Snow vehicles can make driving across a snowy field something exciting, which can make you more apt to stay out in the winter months.
When you go out in winter and are active, it means that your body is burning even more calories than usual which can be helpful during the holidays. With the right snow vehicle, it can push you in the direction of more activity.
For sheer fun the answer is a resounding yes. A good example of these types of machines is a snowmobile. They are designed for peak performance in the harsh winter months making them immensely versatile since they do not need trails or roads. Depending on the model that you purchase you can drive through a forest, looking at wildlife, or you can rumble through the deep snow.
Snowmobiles are part of a larger group of snow vehicles that are also all-terrain vehicles, or ATVs and all seem to have been inspired in design by jet skis. Riding on these machines means that you are open to the elements much like driving a motorcycle.
Because they are all so specialized, the way that you use them is also specific ranging from the benign, like the aforementioned scenery rides, or something exciting like racing across a vast and snowy field. Do not worry about what the engine can do since, unlike your car, these machines were built for the snow and cold.
When you decide to make the purchase of a snow based vehicle, it is important to understand the model in comparison to your goals. This is essential since the transports are easily accelerated and can be quite dangerous. As with any kind of purchase of this magnitude, it is smart to complete as much research as possible and make the most informed decision about your soon to be seasonal hobby.
If you own a van, then you need to look into van roof racks. They are perfect snowboard roof racks for all of you out there that enjoy playing in the snow. This will make things much better.

Snow and ice can be difficult terrain to navigate. Wheels generally perform terribly in it, as they cannot gain any grip on such surfaces. This renders most methods of personal transport, and some public, useless and can lead to large issues in society. Snow vehicles perform the necessary task of solving these problems, either allowing the vehicles to continue on or to transport them over the snow itself. Here are some of the types of snow vehicle.
Snow-Removal Vehicles
Snow-removal vehicles, otherwise known as winter service vehicles (WSV), are given the explicit purpose of clearing well-travelled routes for people to use. This ranges from clearing roads and motorways to even runways for airports. WSVs can be normal or specialized vehicles, both equipped with snow-removal equipment, such as a plough. Their usage varies from location to location, as some places have more severe winter seasons than others and some don’t even require winter for there to be heavy snowfall. WSVs found larger purpose after the vehicle boom of the 20th century, where clearing the roads became a much more important job.
Snow Transports
A snow vehicle doesn’t just need to be used to remove snow; there are designs that all for the transportation of people as well. These designs are focused exceptionally on the navigation of snowy and icy terrain and, as such, are focused exclusively on that. They use a kevlar-enforced rear track to grip onto whatever it can and propel it forwards, while two skis at the front steer it. This particular design has no enclosed space for the driver, or passenger in some cases, except a wind shield. Therefore, it is more of an All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) than a person-carrier, but there are alternatives.
On the other hand, some snowmobiles have evolved past this use and can carry several passenger in an enclosed environment. They can also come with screw designs, which use giant screws to pull themselves through difficult terrain.
If you are searching for a place to carry your bulky or oversize snow toys, van roof racks offer a solution. Snowboard roof racks carry equipment safely and conveniently so you can enjoy playing in the snow.

Mark A Cella and His Favorite 60’s era Ferrari 250 SWB Berlinetta
The precursor to the Berlinetta, which means “Sport Coupe,” was the Ferrari 250 GTO. Indeed the GTO was built on the strength of Ferrari’s record producing V12 GT racers. GTO equates to “Gran Turismo Omologato,” Italian for “Grand Touring Homologated,” while homologated means “Official Agreement”. The 250 is the cubic centimeter displacement of each cylinder in the engine.
Mark A Cella Officially Agrees This Car is all About Racing
From 1953-64 Ferrari built the SWB model which truly put Ferrari on the center stage. It was their most acknowledged line. It was the first Ferrari to have four wheel disc brakes. It had a model which was the first four seater for this sports car. It had a V12 weighing half as much of competitors, cranking out up to 280bhp at 7000 rpm. It’s 4 gear race engine rocketed its victories at so many races the list is endless so here’s just a few:
In the 1960 season it took 1st-4th place in the Le Mans 24 hour race, leaving it’s nearest rivals to eat dust. It took 1st-3rd in its third consecutive victory of the 5500 km Tour de France. Later that season for a second consecutive win at Goodwood, driver Sterling Moss took a victory by lapping the entire field. Then it won all over the rest of the season.
The Ferrari 250 GT SWB Berlinetta Competizione weighed in at only 2,314 lbs., giving it a very high power to weight ratio. Top speed was approximately 152 mph, and 0-60 was done it 6.2 sec. Great numbers for this era.
Mark A Cella Agrees it’s One of the Greatest Ferraris Ever Built
It is said that owners of this car had the luxury and thrill of being able to drive it to the race track, unload their luggage and be ready to race with minimal or no modifications. Just place their numbers on the sides and race. Although the competition models did have an extra 30-40 horsepower and other modifications like shorter wheel base, and aluminum vs. steal, not much could help most other manufacturers.
Motor Trend gave the 250 SWB the ranking of 5th out of ten of the Greatest Ferraris of all time. Sports Car International rated it 7th Top Sports Car of the 1960’s. Mark A Cella rates it his first place 1960’s era Muscle Car, followed by the 1967 Corvette Sting Ray and 1968 Chevy Camaro.
